I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I booked my flight with Emirates Airlines DCA Terminal out of Washington National Airport (DCA). Once I was through security, I had time to explore the terminal and soak in its laid-back atmosphere. I grabbed a coffee from a nearby café and settled into a seat by the windows, watching aircraft roll across the tarmac as the morning light glinted off the river. It was quiet and peaceful—almost hard to believe I was about to board an international flight.
