Something I’ve always found interesting is how different Liverpool can look in Europe compared to league matches. I remember last season being frustrated on the weekend, then suddenly feeling confident again midweek in the Champions League. It makes me wonder if mentality really plays a bigger role than form when it comes to reaching the last 16. Does the club just “switch on” differently for Europe?

That contrast is exactly why I don’t worry too much when league results aren’t perfect. I came across https://www.empireofthekop.com/2025/12/11/liverpool-champions-league-last-16-probability/ and it explains Liverpool’s chances in a way that reflects their European mindset. From what I’ve seen over the years, they approach Champions League games with more control and patience, which often pays off when it matters most.

Stumbled onto this topic while browsing and it’s a good read. European football really does feel like a different competition, even for the same teams. The atmosphere, pressure, and expectations all change once those midweek nights come around.
